meet melissa

Born and raised in Sweden in 1985. Wife and mother of three. Finished her Bachelor Science degree in Sociology 2012 from BTH.  Melissa is also an artist (Kaylee Design) and paints whenever she gets the opportunity.

To assist individuals in the field of Sociology over the past decade, Melissa believes it is important to be able to see and experience things from another person´s perspective – to have a immense empathy skills. This quality is equally importnant in the profession of a UX designer because when you have empathy, you can understand what the challenges the user and/or stakeholders is experiencing in a product and by that also designing a product for the specific targeted group with a deeper understanding.

Melissa relocated to Cary, NC (USA) with her husband and children in august 2022. Due to a desire to change career path into something where her creativity can prosper, she is now currently pursuing her second Bachelor Science degree in Informatics, majoring in interactiondesign/UX-design. The studies is done remotely from a Swedish university, Linnéuniversitetet. Studying Informatics sparked her curiosity and deepend her interest in gaining technical expertise, which led her to pursue QA (QA portfolio) and further explore AI/ML.

Melissa is detail-oriented professional with excellent communication, interpersonal and creative thinking skills. Frequently praised as hardworking by her peers, and she can be relied upon to help your company achieve its goals.

Furthermore, Melissa believes that her experience from different workplaces gives her a versatile perspective, which she believes is a fundamental factor for excellent collaboration. Her positive attitude on life gives her a lot of self-distance which means she have a strong ability to cooperate in both small and bigger teams.

Regarding ability to work in the US, Melissa has a full US work visa in place.
